Bibles and dirty overalls...

My big trip to the races last weekend was quite exciting... Given, I sat in the stand knitting Kate baby stuff all day, but even so think I can still call it exciting.

I always underestimated the level of patriotism here, but its full blown. Before the races a guy in dirty overalls (who I assume was a mechanic) got up the front with a bible in one hand and blessed the event. Only one way to describe it.. strange. Then we all sang the national anthem (well not me, since I don't know the words), and stared some more at the flag, which did look 'pretty' in the afternoon sun. Then everyone drank beer and swore allot.

Allan's car, before crashing side on into another guy.
the bigger cars were pretty cool.. most of them were an engine with a tough looking beat up shell, mostly for aesthetics.

This is one of the ghost dogs I've been looking after, in exchange for a place to stay (a really nice place mind at that)

Actually, there is good American humor! Hey I saw those "lookin good for Jesus" toiletry kits in a shop here!!!!!
